Vive la France

The brief was to create a focal point for the pond in the formal garden of a French Chateau that enhanced the view of the mountains beyond.

The oxidised verdigris bronze Mantle garden sphere does this perfectly: its shape and natural green hues mimic the formal topiary; the gaps in the Mantle allow glimpses of the mountain view; while at night the moving water and illuminations create dramatic reflections in the pool.

A newly designed water system creates a billowing curtain of water around the formal bronze hour glass plinth into the black pool.
